In Spanish, the word belicoso means war-like, but this mellow, yet complex cigar displays none of the aggressive flavors found in many belicoso cigars. The Romeo y Julieta Belicoso lights easily and produces voluminous aromatic smoke, blending dry woodiness with creamy sweet florals.

Romeo y Julieta Belicosos Overview

With a classic pyramid-style tip in a campana-shaped format, the Belicoso is 5½” long with a ring gauge of 52. It has a medium strength and balances mildness with classic, well-rounded flavors. This is the perfect stick for someone who wants to try a more complicated smoke while avoiding an overwhelming flavor profile.

Smoking a Romeo y Julieta Belicosos

The Romeo y Julieta Belicoso has a stunning appearance, with a Colorado wrapper in excellent condition and little to no blemishes. One of the greatest assets of the Belicoso is that it lights easily and draws consistently well, if a little firmly at first.

The pre-draw is redolent of dark honey and cedar, and the stick produces clouds of aromatic smoke from the first light. This stogie starts small and becomes more complex as you smoke it. It doesn’t overwhelm and pulls you into its flavors slowly, perfect if you’re not a professional Cuban cigar smoker.

The first third starts with rolling aromas of barnyard, musk, and sweet cherry. Muskiness prevails throughout the second third and the final third, but with added layers of leather, cocoa, and coffee bean taking over. The final third is sweet with nougat and hints of marshmallow.

Cigar Value

These cigars are complex and will taste even better after good aging. They are an elegant and refined smoke that pairs well with single malt Scotch.

Romeo y Julieta Belicosos Experience

The perfect companion for a walk on a windy day, the Belicosos have quick combustion and even burning that rarely needs retouching. If you’re looking for a mild cigar with well-rounded flavors and the complexity that Romeo y Julieta is known for, look no further than the Belicosos.
