The Montecristo Eagle Open Series is a mellow cigar in a geniales format. The playful medium-bodied flavor profile of coffee and roast nuts is accessible for novices and connoisseurs alike.

Eagle Open Series Overview

Launched as part of the Montecristo Open Golf Tournament, Cuba’s largest international golf competition, the Eagle Open Series is the most impressive off the Open Series production line. This lengthy 5.9” stick has a 54 ring gauge, and the silky Colorado wrapper offers a firm roll and a perfect triple cap for an oversized Robusto. The stiff consistency and longitudinal veins attest to the expertise with which it’s rolled.

Smoking an Eagle Open Series

Pre-lit, the cigar smells sweet with cream and chocolate emanating from the foot. The firm cigar body provides an even and consistent burn line, creating flaky ash as you smoke.

From the first third to the final third, a spicy Caribbean coffee flavor predominates with a light woodiness. The flavors mellow in the second third, mixing in roast nuts and fresh grass. Towards the final third the sweetness comes through again, with the coffee taste mixing with sweet cream.

Its impressive length and width allow for an extended smoking time of an hour to an hour and a half.

Cigar Value

While the exclusivity and brand prestige contribute to the price, the Eagle Open series’ quality ensures you enjoy your stogie to the very last puff. As a Montecristo, it also ages well and is deserving of a place in a aficionado’s humidor.

Eagle Open Series Experience

Due to its approachable flavors and easy smokability, this cigar is ideal for beginner cigar smokers. It’s also perfect for those who like to pair outdoor activities like golf with a choice cigar.
