Smoking an Eagle Open Series
Pre-lit, the cigar smells sweet with cream and chocolate emanating from the foot. The firm cigar body provides an even and consistent burn line, creating flaky ash as you smoke.
From the first third to the final third, a spicy Caribbean coffee flavor predominates with a light woodiness. The flavors mellow in the second third, mixing in roast nuts and fresh grass. Towards the final third the sweetness comes through again, with the coffee taste mixing with sweet cream.
Its impressive length and width allow for an extended smoking time of an hour to an hour and a half.
Cigar Value
While the exclusivity and brand prestige contribute to the price, the Eagle Open series’ quality ensures you enjoy your stogie to the very last puff. As a Montecristo, it also ages well and is deserving of a place in a aficionado’s humidor.
Eagle Open Series Experience
Due to its approachable flavors and easy smokability, this cigar is ideal for beginner cigar smokers. It’s also perfect for those who like to pair outdoor activities like golf with a choice cigar.
15-45 Days Standard Shipping.

A+ Only complaint would be that occasionally you get a plugged one, like with any Cuban. Balance and taste are unparalleled. This is as good as it gets for mild-medium cuban cigars, and at a reasonable price point. Will definitely order again!Only complaint would be that occasionally you get a plugged one, like with any Cuban. Balance and taste are unparalleled. One and Unfortunately Done I've had less than five Cuban cigars, and this was the best. The ring size and length made this a very classy looking stick. It also had a few veins visible in the wrapper which added to the strong image the cigar projected. It had a nice even burn and it needed no touchups or relights. I detected floral and nutty notes along with a nice hint of something that I couldn't describe. Overall, it was an extremely pleasant cigar. Of course each of the Cuban cigars I've enjoyed were purchased and smoked while I was on vacation outside of the U.S. So, even though I enjoyed the others, the Montecristo Open Eagle was the only one that made me regret not being able to bring some home. If another U.S. President ever opens our borders/trade with Cuba, I'll be one of the first ones ordering these delicious jewels.I've had less than five Cuban cigars, and this was the best.
