Smoking
Smoking a Montecristo Double Edmundo
The savory and tantalizingly aromatic Vuelta Abajo tobaccos from Cuba's Pinar del Rio province give the Montecristo Double Edmundo cigar the boldly textured yet refined character Cuban cigar connoisseurs crave. The larger format allows for generous portions of cedar, earth, leather, berry, and nut flavors to flow from every draw. Coffee, wood, and pepper undercurrents keep the medium-full smoke balanced and delicious throughout. The Montecristo Double Edmundo cigar evolves from medium-plus to full-bodied, finishing with a lively yet composed finale.

Montecristo Double Edmundo Experience

Product Description
Montecristo Double Edmundo Overview
Montecristo cigars were known primarily for their elegant, traditionally smaller sizes, echoing the golden age of Cuban cigar making. However, modern cigar smokers desire larger format cigars, so the Montecristo Edmundo series was ushered in to bring the brand into the 21st Century. These cigars' larger ring gauges deliver smokes of greater complexity and body. The Montecristo Double Edmundo is a modern favorite that makes exceptional use of Vuelta Abajo tobacco and its 6.1" x 50 frame to deliver a rich and sophisticated smoke.

Nice! There was a lot to enjoy in the flavour of this cigar, particularly the rich woody notes and the gentle spice that developed as it went along. However, it arrived too dry, and the wrapper had cracked, so the condition was disappointing. That affected my enjoyment, even though the tobacco itself still had plenty of character. I would give it another try, as I suspect a better-kept example would offer a much more satisfying experience. Overall, four stars, with the missing star coming down to the dryness and wrapper damage. There was a lot to enjoy in the flavour of this cigar, particularly the rich woody notes and the gentle spice that developed as it went along.
