Smoking an H Upmann Magnum 50
The Magnum 50 looks like the classic Cuban, with its densely-stuffed tobacco leaves and rich, lightly bronzed color. Hefty tobacco undertones mix with sweetness and wheat layers. Toward the end, you’ll get a bite of citrus, mixed with spice.
The first third gives off a massive, earthy flavor, before moving into a more fruity middle third, and finishing up with hints of birch and oak. Creamy and satisfying throughout, the Magnum 50 provides an even draw and gives off a characterful, almond-tinged smoke. The end of the draw is particularly long and this satisfying finish is part of the big appeal.

The H Upmann Magnum 50 has quickly become the touchstone cigar within the Magnum series. At a lengthy 6½” this cigar is stuffed with Vuelta Abajo tobacco. Its hand-wrapped exterior is velvety and veiny, with a rich chrome and brown color.
This Double Robusto has a ring gauge of 50, making it the thickest model in the Magnum range.

Worth the wait I have tried many Cuban cigars in my life, nearly 58. I ordered these in November and had a few difficulties with delivery. Perseverance from this company and they arrived. I couldn't wait to try one. So fixed them into one of my humidors. Next evening sat down with some Indian whisky I bought to try. From the first few puffs I knew this was going to be worth the wait. Draw is perfect, cigar burned smoothly all the way. Whisky was also pleasant with the cigar both complimented each other. Flavours were lovely. Ok smoke I have gone off Cubans for the last year or so due to quality and price issues. This is no exception. The smoke is nice and the flavours are very subtle. Typical uplands floral and earth notes with mild to medium strength. The draw is quite tight though. I prefer the magnum 54 but if you are OK with tight draws then this is a nice smoke.I have gone off Cubans for the last year or so due to quality and price issues. This is no exception.
