Smoking a Hoyo de Monterrey le Hoyo de San Juan
The Hoyo de Monterrey le Hoyo de San Juan has almost perfect construction with a semi-matte wrapper between Colorado Claro and Colorado, which smells of dry hay, wood shavings, and dried fruit at the foot.
Well-packed without any soft spots, the Le Hoyo de San Juan offers excellent resistance to the draw. The burn can become slightly uneven in places, but quickly corrects without any assistance.
The first third is light and floral, with a base note of wood and a hint of sweet spices such as cloves and cinnamon. The spice notes are joined by the aroma of sun-ripened stone fruits and roasted nuts going into the second third. As with most Cubans, the intensity peaks towards the final third with rich caramel and chocolate, creating a lushly layered flavor that lingers long after you are done.

Released at the 2014 Habanos Festival, the Le Hoyo de San Juan comes in a Geniales format with a mighty 54 ring gauge and a 5.9” length. It has an immensely satisfying weight and feel. Some may consider the big size pretentious or over the top.
Hand-rolled from tobacco sourced solely from the San Juan y Martínez region where the brand originated, this outstanding cigar offers a modern twist on the original Hoyo de Monterrey recipe. Another vote for San Juan! My wife and I took a hike this morning, to a mountain lake nearby for some trout fishing. We enjoyed the San Juan ALMOST as much as the scenery! So I would have to cast my vote for the San Juan over the Rio Seco, and the #2. Hoyo de Monterey hit the nail on the head with this stick. Gorgeous wrapper, great burn and great taste. I almost forgot I was fishing! Fantastic cigar, decent price. Fantastic cigar fully recomended This was my first order with Swiss Cuban Cigars and although UK Customs were not nice to me, the cigars received were absolutely fantastic. I was also really pleased with the customer service and constant updates of my cigars as they traveled through. I am planning on aging these but I could not help myself trying one and it was epic. Creamy smoke, medium body increasing in intensity, and perfect burn. Give this cigar a good 90mins at a minimum to enjoy.This was my first order with Swiss Cuban Cigars and although UK Customs were not nice to me, the cigars received were absolutely fantastic.
