Smoking a Hoyo de Monterrey Grand Epicure
The dark chocolate-colored wrapper has a slight sheen of oil. Subtle veins and bumps do not detract from the overall appearance. The weighty feel of the cigar suggests the depth of flavor lying underneath.
The aroma of the wrapper is reminiscent of cacao and earth, with a slight touch of leather. Unlike many other cigars from the brand, the first third of the Grand Epicure is surprisingly bold with bitter espresso, cedar, and dark chocolate.
There are nut and butter notes adding to the coffee scent throughout the middle third, and the final third of the cigar offers spicy black pepper.

These cigars are only available as a limited release and they come with a hefty price tag. Yet, if you want a Habano that exemplifies the elegant blending of the Hoyo de Monterrey house, the Grand Epicure is a real treat.

Excellent age on this cigar Fully packed cigar, well constructed. Great smoke output and really well balanced. Going to age the heck out of the remaining cigars in my Humidor as I feel these will develope even more and become smoother still with time. Mr. This cigar is a treat for the holiday. Firm structure, slow burning with even ashes. Mild to medium strength, but it's full of flavors.
